EOI: Sea Turtles at the Edge of Africa — closes 30 September 2026
Wanparta is inviting expressions of interest to attend the 45th International Sea Turtle Society Symposium, held 2–8 April 2027 at the Boardwalk Convention Centre in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), South Africa. The symposium brings together researchers, conservationists and rangers from around the world for a week of sea turtle science, conservation and cultural exchange. Who we're looking for: someone with a valid passport who can meet South Africa's entry requirements, has a connection to NIAA-funded ranger work (ideally through the Ngarla Rangers program), has a genuine interest in sea turtle conservation or marine science, and is willing to travel as part of a small group for the full week.
How to apply: There's no form. Write to us in your own words and tell us who you are, your experience, your connection to ranger work and how this would feed back into it, confirmation of your passport, and anything we should know about your health, access needs or diet.
Closes 30 September 2026. Symposium registration opens 1 October, so we need to hear from you before then.
